Did you Know?
What is Autism?
Autism, also called Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is a condition that affects how a person communicates, interacts with others, learns, and experiences the world.
It is not a disease and it is not contagious. A person is born with autism.
Every autistic person is different. Some may talk a lot, others may talk very little or not at all. Some may need a lot of support, while others can live very independently.
Common Signs of Autism to Look Out For
Autism can show differently in each child, but some common signs include:
• Delayed speech or not speaking at all
• Difficulty making eye contact
• Prefers to play alone
• Repeats words, actions, or movements (like hand flapping or rocking)
• Sensitive to loud sounds, lights, or touch
• Has strong interest in one thing (toys, numbers, objects, routines)
• Finds it hard to understand emotions or social rules
⚠️ Not all signs mean autism, but early assessment and support matter.
Let’s Choose Understanding, Not Judgement
Awareness leads to acceptance. Acceptance leads to inclusion. 💙

The Science of Autism: Why Early Intervention Matters
Autism is a neurodevelopmental difference that affects the way a child communicates, interacts socially, and processes the world around them. It is not caused by poor parenting or “bad behavior”—it begins in the brain early in development.
Research shows that children on the autism spectrum often have differences in how their brains form connections, especially in areas responsible for language, movement, and sensory processing. These differences don’t make a child less, they simply mean they learn and respond differently.
✨ The Power of Early Intervention (EI)
Early intervention means supporting a child as early as possible—sometimes even before age 3—through therapies targeting communication, behavior, motor skills, and sensory needs.
Why is EI so powerful?
🧠 The young brain is still developing and easier to shape (neuroplasticity)
🗣️ It helps children build communication and social skills sooner
💪 Reduces developmental delays and increases independence
🌍 Gives parents tools to understand and support their child confidently
Early support doesn’t “fix” autism—it empowers children to thrive in their own unique way.
💡 Why It Matters for Families & Communities
When children receive the right support early, we see:
Better school readiness
Improved emotional regulation
Stronger family relationships
Reduced stigma and misunderstanding
Autism is not a disability to hide—it is a journey to support with love, knowledge, and patience.
