Congratulations Vivian!!!
Introducing our Sustainability Solutions Science Fair high school winner Vivian Chinoda, who won a 1st place Wells Fargo Community Innovation Award!
In her home country of Zimbabwe, Vivian saw poorly treated wastewater supplied to households and realized that conventional chemical water purification methods can actually add contaminants to water. So, Vivian developed a low cost water treatment solution using electrocoagulation. This cost effective solution can have a big impact on communities around the world.
When asked why she entered the science fair Vivian said, “I came across the Fair online and what really drove me to apply was that I wanted to close the gap in developing countries. Such opportunities are rare here, yet sustainability issues require real attention. I wanted to reveal these concerns and get the world’s attention on the things that really matter.”
Vivian’s project was selected from more than 600 entries in the ASU Sustainability Solutions Science Fair. To see a full list of winners and read more about the science fair head to the link in our bio.
Congratulations Vivian!
