Metropolitan Schools - Kafue Road, Lusaka

Metropolitan School held its Sports Day on Thursday, 15th, and Friday, 16th June 2023. The event was spectacular 🙌 and the attendance of parents and guardians was very good 👍. The pupils put in their best in the disciplines that they were participating in going by the enthusiasm they exhibited. Four school houses took part in athletic activities, football and volleyball. The results of this sporting event were:-
1st position - Zambezi House
2nd position - Kafue House
3rd position - Luapula House
4th position - Luangwa House

Congratulations to the winning House and the other Houses are encouraged to work harder next year. Congratulations to the Patrons/Matrons and teachers for the good 👍 job done during this event. Gratitude is extended to Trade Kings Group through its subsidiary Big Tree in coming to assist the school with their branded ⛺️ (shade for parents and judges) and refreshments.

Metropolitan School is proud to announce to all that one of its former pupils, Labiba Kamruzzaman, has received accolades from ACCA as being the best student in Zambia 🇿🇲 by getting the highest marks in FA1( Recording Financial Transactions) and MA1( Managing Information) in the March 2022 examinations and the award was given on 19th July 2023.

Kudos👏 to Labiba, and the school wishes her all the best in her quest for good results in the professional path she has taken.

This is an encouragement to all pupils of Metropolitan school and an example to emulate.

Metropolitan School held its ART EXHIBITION on Friday 24 March 2023 in the Multipurpose hall. The pupils from Pre-school to Grade 11 showed their skills and talent in creative art. Parents and guardians had the opportunity to see and appreciate the works of their children as they dropped and picked up the children. People had the opportunity to visit the hall from 07:30hrs to 12:00hrs. The school administration is proud of the artefacts that were displayed and congratulates all the pupils for the good work done and kudos to the teachers and parents for the guidance given.

Just like every new year, this one comes with new aspirations and projects..

Today, 25 May 2022 marks the 61st year of Africa Freedom Day. Some African countries refer to this day as African Liberation Day. This day is celebrated/commemorated worldwide with some countries declaring it a public holiday. Most nations celebrate this day through speeches, poems, symposiums while others celebrate the day through community works. Metropolitan School could not be left behind in celebrating this day. On Tuesday, 24th May 2022 the school commemorated the day through speeches and poems. The pupils eulogised a number of liberation struggle leaders of the African continent. Kudos to the pupils who made it possible for the school assembly to gain an insight to what Africa Freedom Day is all about.

Pre-school pupils of Metropolitan School visited the Fun Factory. The trip was meant to break the classroom routine and yet provide an educational atmosphere coupled with fun in an out of school environment. The children enjoyed themselves in performing a variety of tasks and are asking teachers to take them back. The teachers were excellent in ensuring that the children played safely. The Fun Factory staff were at hand to help and give guidance to children on how execute certain tasks. Thanks to parents for their cooperation in this particular outing for children.
