A historic moment as Coventry becomes the first female and the first African IOC President, elected at the 144th IOC Session in Costa Navarino!

12 ZAMBIAN JUDOKAS IN ZIMBABWE

Twelve Zambian Judokas are currently in Harare, Zimbabwe ahead of the open tournament starting on 25 September.

The Judokas (8) boys and (4) girls concluded their weighing session on Saturday afternoon as they prepare to get on the tatami.

Zambia Judo Association (ZJA) General Secretary Mabvuto N'guni has disclosed that athletes are ready for the tournament and named some of them as Filet Musonda, Anita Kandela, Mercy Bowa, Francis Mulenga, Johnathan Mwana, John Kapungwe among others.

He added that they will compete in the 44, 55, 57, 60 and 73 weight categories respectively.

N'guni says the tournament will also be used as a preparatory for the 2022 African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5 Youth Games to be held in Lilongwe Malawi knowing that some of the athletes in Zimbabwe are among those that will travel to the regional games in Malawi.

The competition in Zimbabwe will commence at 09:00 CAT.
