𝗗𝗢𝗡'𝗧 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗬 𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗖𝗛 𝗨𝗣, 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗞 𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗙
In the quest to become the best version of self, many just play the game of catch up, instead of personal development.
"Who do MEN say that I Am". In trying to answer this question, you need to be aware of the concepts of the illusionary self and the desirable self.
👉𝗜𝗹𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳:
The illusionary self can be seen as the image or perception of oneself that is not necessarily rooted in reality. It may involve a distorted view of one's abilities, characteristics, or how one is perceived by others.
Social influences, societal expectations, and personal insecurities can contribute to the formation of an illusionary self. This might manifest as a fake persona created to conform to external expectations.
👉𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳:
The desirable self is the version of oneself that one aspires to become. It encompasses the traits, behaviors, and achievements that an individual values or believes will lead to a sense of fulfillment and acceptance.
Aspirations for the desirable self are often influenced by societal norms, cultural ideals, personal goals, and individual values. This vision of the self may drive personal growth and development.
The thin line between these two concepts arises from the tension between authenticity and societal expectations.
