🏆 The LOTS Inter-House Debating League 2026 concluded with outstanding displays of intellect, poise, and critical thinking.

With over 140 student participants and 29 student leaders serving as chairpersons, timekeepers, and volunteers, the competition truly celebrated the power of student voice.

We were privileged to welcome esteemed external adjudicators from Crucible Lusaka and the University of Lusaka Law School, whose expertise ensured the highest standards of evaluation throughout the event.

Final House Standings:
🥇 Rubra (Red House) – 9,834 points 🏆 Champions
🥈 Pagoda (Blue House) – 9,608 points
🥉 Alba (Yellow House) – 9,380 points

It’s not just about debating: students will also take on roles as chairs, timekeepers and volunteers, while our partnership with Crucible Lusaka brings in student co-judges to elevate the experience.

Day 2 at the World Scholar’s Cup – Lusaka Round

After the intensity of Day 1, Day 2 was indeed a celebration of learning! It brought laughter, creativity and unforgettable moments as our students took part in the Scholar’s Bowl, danced their hearts out and bravely stepped onto the stage for talents (and even untalents!). It was a powerful reminder that when you dare to try something new, even when it feels daunting, great things can happen with a full heart, good company and a supportive crowd.

And indeed, something incredible did happen: 36 out of our 39 scholars qualified for the Global Round!

We are proud, grateful and more motivated than ever. Next stop: World Scholar’s Cup Global Round in the beautiful city of Prague, Czech Republic! 🇨🇿✨

Day 1 at the World Scholar’s Cup – Lusaka Round

The opening of the World Scholar’s Cup Lusaka Round was an exciting start for our LOTS scholars as they stepped into a global academic competition celebrating curiosity, collaboration and critical thinking.

Our students participated in Team Debate, where they confidently presented arguments and responded to opposing viewpoints. They then tackled Collaborative Writing, crafting thoughtful pieces based on thematic prompts. The day concluded with the Scholar’s Challenge, a demanding quiz testing knowledge across subjects such as literature, science, history and the arts.

For many of our students, this was their first experience at the World Scholar’s Cup and they approached every challenge with courage, enthusiasm and teamwork.
