We continue to honour the late Chef Wezi Longwe.

On this day, 2 years ago we hosted the culinary exchange program we shared with chefs in Kenya—where we spent a day cooking, trading techniques, and comparing Zambian and Kenyan cuisine.

We also remember our Season 5 amateur winner - F***y Ngulube who travelled with us, bringing so much passion and joy to the experience.

Chef Wezi’s legacy lives on in every recipe, every story, and every flavour he helped create.

Now we look forward to another culinary exchange program—with Zambian and Tanzanian chefs—because that spirit is bigger than all of us.

Continue to Rest in peace, Chef.

Sometimes a fundraiser becomes a tribute.

That’s exactly what the Breakthrough Cancer Trust in partnership with MasterCook Cookathon is: a celebration of community, and a stand against cancer—built on a story we’ll never forget.

In our very first cookathon, the late Chef Wezi, our MasterCook Africa Head Judge, received his first Cancer diagnosis.

For that reason, our partnership with the Breakthrough Cancer Trust Zambia has always been more than support—it’s personal.

And now, as we grieve Chef Wezi, who passed away just a week ago, we’re coming together even stronger—so that more lives can be saved, and fewer families are left with this kind of pain.
