ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT | Mumbwa Community Giveback 🌟

A Homecoming with Purpose

On 30th March 2026, Pestalozzi alumni based in Mumbwa launched a heartfelt community giveback program, returning to Chisenga School, one of the foundation schools from which our alumni were originally selected by Pestalozzi .The visit was more than nostalgia; it was a deliberate investment in the lives of students who stand where they once stood.

During the visit, our alumni:
Met with school staff to understand the challenges they face, how they keep students engaged and motivated beyond the classroom, and shared best practices from their own journeys.

Sensitised upper grade students on early marriages, STIs, and child abuse, including defilement and r**e , equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to protect themselves and speak up.

Presented donations to the school and shared personal stories of their own paths from these same classrooms, offering real proof that hard work, curiosity, and character can open extraordinary doors.

Connected through interactions and a school tour, giving students the chance to ask questions, dream out loud, and meet mentors who were once sitting in those very same desks.

The Pestalozzi ethos has always been about more than individual achievement it is about transforming communities. When our alumni return, they carry a powerful message: the opportunities you have today can become someone else's tomorrow.

"We came back not as strangers but as living proof that the seeds planted here grow into something remarkable. Our job now is to water the next crop."
Mumbwa Alumni, March 2026

❤️ Proud of our alumni who continue to give back. This is what Pestalozzi is all about.

Alumni Spotlight

Last month, on 13th December 2025, our alumni held a reunion in Lusaka, bringing together 33 alumni. It was a wonderful time to network, share different stories, and hear about the impact our alumni are making in the community. This reflects the spirit that Pestalozzi instils in us that of the head, heart, and hands.

We also used this time to plan for the year 2026, and we are excited about what this year holds. Thank you to all the alumni who joined us both virtually and in person. You are an amazing team.

Happy New Year to you all!

Alumni spotlight 😊

My journey with Pestalozzi began as a young girl from a humble background full of dreams, yet limited by circumstance. Pestalozzi opened the door that changed my life by supporting me through my education at Kasisi Primary School.

Thanks to this life changing opportunity, I was awarded the Sally Dean Bursary, which sponsored my training as a Registered Nurse. I remain forever grateful to the late Sally Dean a woman whose heart and vision transformed lives like mine. I honour her memory and pray her soul continues to rest in perfect peace.

With determination and further support from the Ministry of Health, I was able to upgrade to a Registered Midwife and began working at Kawambwa District Hospital. Today, I proudly serve as a Clinical Instructor, mentoring both general nursing and midwifery students.

Driven by a passion for lifelong learning, I went on to complete my Bachelor of Midwifery Sciences (BSc) at the University of Zambia, where I recently graduated as one of the best students in my cohort.

Beyond my professional path, I’ve stayed deeply connected to the Pestalozzi community. I’ve volunteered in a variety of roles from providing housemother support and participating in student selection, to strengthening alumni engagement. In 2021, I was humbled and honoured to receive the Pestalozzi Gold Impact Award, and I now serve as the Zambian Representative on the Pestalozzi International Alumni Committee.

Pestalozzi gave me more than an education, Pestalozzi gave me dignity, purpose, and a platform to serve. I carry that gift forward by standing for others, just as Pestalozzi once stood for me.

A big congratulations to you Prisca 💃🏻for your achievement 🎓🎓🌹
