On 29th April 2026, UNZA-EEMSA was privileged to attend Green Earth Action Day at Agora Village in Lusaka.
This impactful event provided an important platform to discuss and highlight some of the pressing environmental challenges facing our world today, particularly how these issues are accelerating climate change and affecting not only individuals, but society and the global community as a whole.
Through meaningful discussions and shared knowledge, we were reminded that environmental responsibility is a collective duty, and that sustainable action today is essential for a healthier tomorrow 🌱
As UNZA-EEMSA, we remain committed to promoting environmental awareness, sustainability, and active participation in addressing the challenges affecting our planet.

On Saturday last week, our students had the privilege of attending an insightful event organized by Without Borders at Lusaka Golf Course.

The session was both educational and hands-on, as students learned about:
🦇 The importance of bats in ecosystems
🌱 The threats of invasive species such as Lantana camara
📱 How to identify and track birds using mobile apps like Merlin Bird, eBird, and iNaturalist

Beyond learning, we took part in actively removing invasive species, highlighting the real impact of environmental action in protecting biodiversity.

A special thank you to Bats Without Boarders for giving us this learning platform as experiences like these continue to shape environmentally conscious leaders ready to make a difference 💪

Today, UNZAEEMSA proudly partnered with UNZA LEO in a successful tree planting initiative around the School of Education.

🌳 Behind the school, we planted avocado trees — contributing to sustainability and future benefits.
🌿 In front (Mature Square), we planted ornamental trees to enhance the beauty of our environment.

This initiative reflects our commitment to environmental conservation, sustainability, and creating a greener, healthier campus for all.

Together, we are not just planting trees — we are planting a better future 💚
