Learning beyond the classroom!
Year 5 students had an exciting and practical learning experience during their visit to Shoprite, where they put their budgeting and financial literacy skills into practice.
Students were given a shopping list and a budget. They worked carefully to compare prices, make spending decisions, stay within a budget, and calculate costs while shopping. This hands-on experience helped them understand the importance of planning, saving, and making smart financial choices in everyday life.

Our Nursery and Preschool children have been enjoying wonderful hands-on activities! The children explored apple stamping, dipping apple halves into paint, and pressing them onto paper to create beautiful prints. To finish, they tried leaf painting, using leaves to make colourful patterns and discover the shapes and textures of nature. It was lovely to see their curiosity, creativity, and growing independence. Well done, everyone!

🌿Habitats 🐜
Year 4 explorers had an exciting time around the school grounds as they investigated different habitats in search of minibeasts!
Armed with curiosity and observation skills, the students searched for creatures such as bees, termites, small spiders, black ants, and worms.
They carefully counted how many of each minibeast they could find and discussed where each one was living. This hands-on activity helped learners understand that different minibeasts live in different habitats depending on their needs. It also encouraged them to make careful conclusions based on what they observed.
The students were especially interested in gently touching the worms they dug up. This was done under close supervision in a safe garden environment where leaves are regularly piled and watered to attract worms, helping to naturally aerate the soil before planting.
Learning through exploration makes science come alive!

As part of our "People Who Help Us" topic, Dr Refat visited Reception Red and Blue to share insights about their important role in the community. The children learnt about what doctors do each day, how they help patients feel better, and what happens during a visit to the hospital. They also explored different medical tools, the importance of hygiene, and ways to stay healthy. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to connect their classroom learning with a real-life experience!
