Dear Alumni,
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Cape Town (UCT) is pleased to announce its call for applications for studies at UCT in 2020.

In 2020 85 opportunities (13 Honours and 72 Masters) are available for students who intend to commence with their first year of registration for full-time Honours and Masters study.

Please note, the deadline for applications is 30 June 2019.

Dear Alumus,

We celebrate and cogratulate Ethiopia for this major milestone!

Ethiopian members of parliament have elected Sahle-Work Zewde as the country& #39;s first female president.

Ms Sahle-Work is an experienced diplomat who has now become Africa& #39;s only female head of state.

Her election to the ceremonial position comes a week after Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed appointed a cabinet with half the posts taken up by women.

After being sworn in, President Sahle-Work promised to work hard to make gender equality a reality in Ethiopia.

Addressing parliament, she also pledged to promote peace: "I urge you all, to uphold our peace, in the name of a mother, who is the first to suffer from the absence of peace.& #39;& #39;

Fighting for women& #39;s rights

The new president was keen to make a point about gender equality right from the start, telling MPs that if they thought she was talking too much about women, she had only just begun.

Interested school leavers with credits or better at Grade 12 can send their application letters attaching copies of certificates or statement of results to:

It is with great sorrow to learn of the demise of our sister;friend;colleague;our own Dr.Harriet M. Sakala.

Harriet was an active and one of the founding members of our Alumni.

News of her demise has hit us with shock and we extend our heart felt condollences and prayers to the bereaved family.

We will miss you our sister and gallant soldier in the plight for gender equality and empowerment of the girl child.

May your soul rest in eternal peace.❤❤❤

Fellow FAWEZA Alumnae and Alumnas,
Be all advised that there is now a requirement for Former, Current and Future FAWEZA Sponsored Pupils and Students to be Registered Members of the Alumni going forward. This means that one NEEDS an Alumni Membership Number to be considered for any sponsorship or other programmes.
Membership Forms can be acquired at K50.00 for Pupils and K100.00 for Students from the FAWEZA Secretariat in Olympia, Plot No.6680, Chiwalamabwe Road, Lusaka (Just Opposite Olympia High School) or you can request for them through e-mail at [email protected] or through facebook inbox.
However, please NOTE that all payments should be Authenticated and Receipted by the Secretariat.
We call upon all Former FAWEZA Sponsored Pupils, Students, and ALL well meaning members of the public that align with the cause to register and acquire membership for you to be involved in Upcoming events and programmes under the organization.
