Lubu Road Nursery and Primary school, a Christian school under Lusaka Baptist Church in Lusaka seeks to urgently employ for the following position: -
ACCOUNTS & PURCHASING CLERK
We invite applications from suitably qualified, experienced and self-motivated individuals to fill the above position.
Reports to: Accountant​​
Employment type: Permanent and Pensionable
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Duties
• Process supplier invoices accurately and promptly
• Prepare and process payments to suppliers.
• Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records
• Reconcile supplier statement and resolve discrepancies
• Perform Bank reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
• Maintain accurate filing systems for financial records
• Assist with budget monitoring and tracking of expenses for the company
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
Purchasing Duties
• Receive and process purchase requisitions from departments.
• Source quotations from suppliers and compare prices and quality.
• Prepare purchase orders and obtain necessary approvals.
• Monitor order status and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Maintain supplier database and procurement records.
• Build and maintain good working relationship with suppliers.
• Ensure purchases comply with company procurement policies.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment when required
• Assist in negotiating pricing and delivery terms with suppliers.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Diploma in Accounting, Purchasing and Supply qualification will be an added advantage.
• Membership with a relevant professional body. Such as Zica.
• Minimum of two (02) years work experience in accounting and/or procurement.
• Experience using accounting packages such as Sage Pastel and quick QuickBooks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPENTENCES.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and procurement procedures
• Two to three years practical experience in a similar position.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Problem-solving and decision making skills
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
Must possess a valid driving licence and has been actively driving for at least two (02) Years.
