"No offense." "None taken." Sure, they're not humans, but etiquette always matters in a world we want to shape into something even better.

The art of the pleasantry is neither lost in Zambia nor should it be lost on AI chatbots.

Yesterday we built a Zambian travel agent called Zambot. We taught him the basics, then improved his responses using a Retrieval-Augmented-Generation, or RAG technique. RAG gives a chatbot "domain-specific" knowledge of a topic, like giving him detailed knowledge of prices, airfare, duration and so on. He even knows how to cook nshima. Today, we've taught him how to cook nshima using Shakesperean-style instructions!

"Ah, thou hast shown great wisdom in seeking to learn the culinary arts of Zambia, for Nshima is the very heart of Zambian cuisine. This staple food, so beloved and revered, is primarily made from maize flour, known in the local tongue as mealie-meal.

*** NSHIMA ALA SHAKESPEARE *** 🇿🇲🇿🇲🇿🇲

To prepare this dish that hath delighted many a Zambian palate, thou must follow these simple steps:

Begin by boiling water in a pot; the amount of water shall depend on the quantity of Nshima thou wishest to make.
As the water dost bubble and boil, slowly add the maize flour, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon to prevent any lumps from forming.
Continue to stir and add the maize flour until the mixture thickens and starts to pull away from the sides of the pot. This is the sign that it hath reached the desired consistency.
Lower the heat and cover the pot, allowing the Nshima to cook for a few more minutes. This doth ensure it is well-cooked and hath a smooth texture.
Once done, thou can mold the Nshima into servings using a wet spoon or thy hands (be cautious, for it is hot), typically forming round shapes.

Nshima is oft accompanied by delicious relishes such as vegetables, meat, or fish. It is not only a meal but a communal experience, a sharing of the bounty that Zambia hath to offer.
