Topic: prediction of chemical equation

🗣️Most students are unable to predict chemical reactions due to lack of understanding the type of chemical reactions.

📘CHEMICAL EQUATION👉👉

👏This is an equation that shows proportionality of reactants and products as shown below👇👇

A and B are reactants and C and D are products.
Basically, the coefficient 2 show the amount of that substance in the chemical reactions.
example
Ca(OH)2 + Na2CO3----------> CaCO3 + NaOH
But how do you know that calcium carbonate and sodium hydroxide will be produced
well that's our main aim to understand how best you can predicts the product qualitatively.

Chemically,know the types of chemical reactions as these idea can help you to predict the products.

let's start with combustion reactions:

🗣️Combustion reactions also called burning
these are reactions that involves an element or compound reacting with oxygen.Oftenly chemist use the term burn in air meaning reacting with oxygen ie an element A burn in air meaning reacting with oxygen 💯💯

EXAMPLE
Simple: C + O2 ------> CO2
SIMPLE: Na + O2------> Na2O
Difficult: CH4 + O2 -------> CO2 + H20

from two simple reactions above we notice that when an element (metal or non metal) reacts with oxygen the product should be metal oxide or non metal oxide ( oxide is coming from oxide).
for the difficult one CH4 has carbon and hydrogen,when this methane compound (alkanes) reacts with oxygen the products are always carbon dioxide and water but sometimes carbon monoxide if oxygen is in limited supply.

‼️Task ‼️: predict the products of
1) K + O2 ----->
2) Mg + O2------>
3) C2H6 + O2 ------>

‼️It's important to note that balancing a chemical reactions is vital as chemical reactions occurs in a balanced chemical way of atoms.Thats the rule of atoms,it's often known that mass before and after chemical reactions is constant no wonder we need to balance the chemical equation.

TOPIC: STATIC ELECTRICITY
BY DEFINITION:

This is the study of electricity which is at rest.electric charges do not move in a conducting wire under this field like current electricity.

🚫How do we know that charges are really there??
📘Remember any object consist of atoms that further consist of electrons and protons.Electrons are negatively charged particles and protons are positively charged particles, however electrons are the only particles that can move from one object because they are located in the shells or energy level unlike protons that are enclosed in the nucleus and cannot move out.
➡️For this, electricity is generated from the moving electrons✏️

➡️Static electricity talks these charges at rest i.e charges are there in your hair and when you try to rub the pen in your hair,the pen will charged because it's has gained electrons from the hair.
➡️The charged pen is able to attract some other materials like plane Paper, a plastic after been charged.

There's another question,since you can't see charges
🚫How do you know that this material has been charged.
🚫To be more precise,HOW DO YOU DETECT CHARGE.

Well,we use an instrument called ELECTROSCOPE to detect these electric charges.
One category of this instrument is Gold leaf ELECTROSCOPE 📘

‼️GOLD LEAF ELECTROSCOPE ✏️✏️

It consists of a vertical metal rod, usually brass, from the end of which hang two parallel strips of thin flexible gold leaf. A disk or ball terminal is attached to the top of the rod, where the charge to be tested is applied.

➡️Detect Charge
For the detection of charge, the object that needs to be tested is touched with the metal cap. If the leaves diverge, the body is said to be charged and if there is no change in the leaves of the electroscope, then the body is uncharged
