Grade 7, 9 and 12 examinations to be conducted in December

THE Ministry of General Education has released a revised school calendar that shows that Grade seven, nine and 12 examinations will be conducted in December this year.
The revised school calendar follows the indefinite premature closure of schools on March 20, this year due to the Corona virus (COVID-19).
According to a memo issued to provincial, district education officials and head teachers by the General Education Permanent Secretary,
Jobbicks Kalumba, examination classes would resume lessons on June 1,this year for term two and close on August 28, 2020 while the third term would commence on September 14, 2020 and close on December 4, 2020.
Grade nine examinations are expected to start on December 7, 2020 while those for the Grade 12 are scheduled to start on December 14.
The Grade seven examinations will start on December 21, 2020. “This gives the teachers an opportunity to concentrate on teaching and
catch up on the lost time by not being engaged in examinations during the term but only after schools close,” the notice said.
The Grade nine and 12 external examinations would take place during the two-week break after term two.
