IKELENGE TOWN COUNCIL HOLDS 2026 NOMINATIONS BRIEFING

Ikelenge Town Council today successfully held the nomination briefing for aspiring candidates for the position of Council Chairpersons and Councillors for the forthcoming General Election slated for 13th August 2026.

The briefing was aimed at guiding aspiring candidates on the nomination process, requirements and electoral procedures ahead of the upcoming elections.

ATTENTION TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC

This serves to inform all aspiring candidates wishing to stand under Parliamentary, Council Chairperson and Councillor that the briefing for the upcoming nomination that was scheduled for Tuesday 12th May 2026 has been moved to Thursday 14th May 2026 at New Covenant Church at 08:00 hours.

23.04.2026-Today, Thursday 23rd April, 2026, Ikelenge Town Council successfully held its second and final Ordinary Council meeting.

Today's meeting was the last for the current cohort of Civic leaders who assumed their respective ward representative duties in August 2021.

Management wishes to express its profound gratitude to the Civic Leaders for their dedication to national duty.

Special gratitude goes the Council Chairperson, Cllr. Joe Chizuza, Her Royal Highness Chieftainess Ikeleng’i, His Royal Highness Chief Nyakaseya and His Royal Highness Chief Mwininyilamba for their steadfast guidance as we steered development in the district.
