WHAT IS A NURSING ASSISTANT?

A nursing assistant or nurse aide, assists patients with daily activities, maintains patient hygiene and serves a vital role on the healthcare team.

WHAT DOES A NURSING ASSISTANT DO?

You will offer patients compassion and patience while assisting them with tasks such as dressing, bathing and feeding. You may also support doctors and nurses in diagnostic procedures and technical treatments.
Certified nursing assistants or nurse aides also typically assist in patient charting and instruction, documenting any care that is given and reporting significant observations to the nursing staff.

WHAT WILL I LEARN WITH THIS TRAINING?

As a student in the Nursing Assistant/Nurse Aide program, you’ll learn how to:

CERTIFICATE IN TEACHING METHODOLOGY
The Teaching Methodology course teaches you how to handle students more effectively, how to enthuse them and how to keep them committed to their studies. There is a special focus on how to diffuse problems that might undermine their ability to effectively learn.

WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR
The Teaching Methodology program is appropriate for people who want to teach in schools, colleges, vocational level or universities depending on your qualification. It also involves supervising and instructing staff in a workplace situation.

The program encourages a broader range of people to consider teaching as a profession by providing a more flexible route to becoming a fully qualified teacher / lecturer.

DURATION
The programme will be offered on Weekends and Online Distance under the ODL department for duration:

Certificate in Teaching Methodology -3 months
Diploma in Teaching Methodology - 12 months
including Teaching Practice.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
A) Diploma, degree or above qualification from a reputable / recognized institution.
-Candidates with professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA and other qualifications.
B) O'level results with 5 credits or better including English and Mathematics.
