Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Civil Engineer role based in Lusaka. The Civil Engineer will support the planning, design, and implementation of civil works related to telecommunications and associated infrastructure, including foundations, access roads, and site drainage systems. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing civil engineering designs and drawings, coordinating surveys, conducting site inspections, and ensuring compliance with local codes, standards, and company guidelines. The role involves collaborating closely with project managers, construction teams, and external contractors to schedule and monitor work progress, resolve technical issues, and maintain quality and safety on site. The Civil Engineer will also contribute to storm water management solutions, prepare technical reports, participate in project planning meetings, and assist with cost estimates, material specifications, and as-built documentation.
Qualifications
*Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline; professional registration or eligibility for registration is an advantage.
*Full paid up EIZ Membership License
*Strong foundation in core civil engineering principles, including *Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design.
*Demonstrated experience functioning as a Civil Engineer on infrastructure or construction projects, preferably in telecommunications or related sectors.
*Skills in Planning and project coordination, including scheduling, resource planning, and progress tracking.
*Knowledge of Storm water Management, drainage design, and site grading for infrastructure projects.
Proficiency in relevant engineering and design software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar), and familiarity with applicable local and international standards.
Ability to perform site inspections, interpret drawings, and work effectively with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a commitment to safety, quality, and ethical conduct.
