Levy Mwanawasa Medical University yesterday joined the nation in commemorating Labour Day, a significant occasion that recognizes the invaluable contribution of workers to national development.
The University’s participation reflects its continued commitment to its vision of contributing to the strengthening of healthcare quality in Zambia and beyond through excellence in education, training, and research in support of Universal Health Coverage.

GOVERNMENT ENGAGES LMMU STUDENTS ON SAFETY CONCERNS
The Government has reaffirmed its commitment to addressing student safety concerns at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University.
Information and Media Permanent Secretary, Thabo Kawana, assured students that concrete steps are being taken to enhance their safety and well-being. He further cautioned against individuals seeking to exploit the situation for personal or political gain.
Mr. Kawana also stated that appropriate action will be taken against any police officers found to have acted unprofessionally.
Youth, Sport and Arts Permanent Secretary, Chileshe Kangwa, emphasized that Government remains deeply concerned about the welfare of all citizens, especially students.
Lusaka Province Permanent Secretary, Joe Kalusa, reiterated Government’s commitment to ensuring a safe learning environment, adding that continued engagement with students is key to resolving their concerns.
