*Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)*

Congestive Heart Failure is a chronic condition in which the heart cannot pump blood efficiently. As a result, fluid accumulates in different parts of the body, leading to a range of symptoms and potential complications.

*Causes of Congestive Heart Failure*

CHF can develop due to several underlying health conditions:

*Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)*:Narrowing of the arteries reduces blood flow to the heart muscle, weakening its function.

*Hypertension (High Blood Pressure):* Persistent high blood pressure forces the heart to work harder, causing the muscle to thicken and lose efficiency. Early treatment is essential to prevent long‑term damage.

*Heart Attack (Myocardial Infarction):* Damage to heart tissue after a heart attack can impair the heart’s ability to pump blood effectively.

*Valvular Heart Disease:* Malfunctioning heart valves increase strain on the heart, which over time may lead to heart failure.

*Cardiomyopathy:* Diseases of the heart muscle—whether genetic, viral, or lifestyle‑related—can weaken the heart’s pumping ability.

*Early detection and management of risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and lifestyle habits (diet, exercise, smoking cessation) are critical in reducing the likelihood of CHF. Preventive care and regular check‑ups can make a significant difference in long‑term heart health.*
