I was today privileged to join the Eden Family in welcoming a delegation from the Zimbabwean Government. The delegation was lead by the Deputy Minister of Health and child care from Zimbabwe Dr. John Mangwiro, The Zimbabwean Ambassador to Zambia, Her. Excellency, Mrs Charity Charamba And there delegation to Zambia.

This visit remains key as long as we continue to look at education to be paramount in Enhancing bilateral relations between Zambia and Zimbabwe who share quiet common heritage in this regard.

In my appeal, I called on the representative of the Zimbabwean Government to reconsider the exorbitant charges on study permits for the students from Zimbabwe not only at Eden University but across Zambia.

I submitted this because I hold the view, education is one way any government can empower it's citizen's and it is indeed every Government's responsibility to educate it's citizens if economic development is to be attained, otherwise you are failing as a government if you are governing uneducated citizen's.

further recognized, the need for the two Governments to look at education as an investment and not a burdening expense during and after national budget planning.

As if it was not good enough, I had the honor of touring this entourage around the institution training facilities to demonstrate our commitment to not only promoting access to Education through affordable fees for both local and international students but also the promotion of quality education, speaking to the challenges of our times through modern facilities, meant to equip learners with the competent skills to contribute in society effectively.

I am aware that the Government of the Republic of Zambia through Ministry of science and technology is making strides towards connecting the two Ministries in advancing the need to promote science and technology to drive the education agenda across the country.

Convinced beyond reasonable doubt, we could not attain the status of a Dream University if science and technology are not the forerunners of our training programs across all schools.

A few weeks ago, We entered into a Memorandum of understanding with the Indian institute of science and Technology to promote quality education. Surely, we have demonstrated this zeal and we are convinced we can not turn back but seek to invest further to the realization of this worthwhile investment of science and technology.

On behalf of the management, staff and students of Zimbabwean origin, we pay respect and gratitude to the Minister for sparing time to come and see where the future nurses, Doctors, teacher's, pharmacists etc. Of Zimbabwe are been trained from, ready to serve the Republic of Zimbabwe and the rest of the world.
