It's main focus is to support children
in need by providing food and education. The genesis of the school was through the realization that most of the children in this village are either orphaned or come fr

om a very poor background which can not support and provide the basic necessities such as food and education. The school exist to provide free education and free food during learning days. We realiase that in as much noble this initiative could be, its existence lies in the unity of purpose and donor support system. We have recurring financial challenges of feeding the children whose enrollment has increased to 370 pupils ( pre-school to Grade 7 class) . We are always in need of finances to buy teaching accessories and to pay teachers and sustain the administration of the school. The demand for enrollment has plummeted in the advent of Covid19 that has rendered every household poor and inept to pay fees in government school. The school has propagated a teaching volunteering program for those that want to volunteer their skill set and we have seen quite a number of local and international volunteers coming on board. Let us consolidate and join hands for the betterment of the school and the lives of the children.

A Bridge of Education, Friendship & Inspiration 🌍📚❤️

12 August 2026 will remain a special day in the history of Simoonga Thandizani Trust School.

We were truly honoured to welcome our friends from The Ridge School in South Africa for a beautiful day of learning, friendship, culture and sharing educational experiences.

From the moment they arrived, our children welcomed them with joyful songs—a special Zambian welcome that opened hearts and created an atmosphere of happiness, friendship and excitement. 🇿🇲🇿🇦

The day became much more than a school visit. It became an opportunity for two schools from two different countries to learn from one another. Our children had the exciting opportunity to participate in their first-ever inter-school competition with a school from another country, including a spelling competition, sports, chess and many other fun educational activities.

For our children, this was a powerful experience. They discovered that education can connect children across borders, cultures and communities. They gained confidence, new friendships and a greater understanding of the wider world. At the same time, we believe our friends from The Ridge School also experienced something special from Simoonga—our warm Zambian hospitality, community spirit, resilience, culture and the determination of children who continue to dream despite facing many challenges.

After the school activities, we took our visitors on a Simoonga Village community tour, giving them an opportunity to see our local environment, meet people in our community and understand more about the lives and experiences of the children we serve.

One of the most touching moments was when The Ridge School donated beautiful hats to all members of our school staff, with the South African flag inside the hats. 🇿🇦❤️ This thoughtful gift will remain a wonderful reminder of the friendship and connection created between our two schools.

This visit has opened the door to a stronger partnership between Simoonga Thandizani Trust School and The Ridge School, and we hope this is only the beginning of many more opportunities to learn, share, support one another and inspire our children.

At Simoonga Thandizani Trust School, we believe that education is not only about what happens inside a classroom. Education is about discovering the world, building confidence, respecting different cultures, creating friendships and giving every child the opportunity to dream bigger.

We are deeply grateful to The Ridge School for coming to and sharing this unforgettable experience with us.

We are deeply grateful for your support of our children's education. Because of your kindness and generosity, Simoonga Thandizani Trust School continues to grow and provide hope to children who would otherwise have no access to education. If it were not for your support, many of our children would have remained without the opportunity to learn and build a brighter future. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

As you may know, our school receives no financial support from the government. We rely entirely on donations, volunteers, and the generosity of people like you to keep our doors open.

Dear Friends,

Today, I want to share a glimpse of the reality our children face every day at Simoonga Thandizani Trust School.

As you can see in the photo, many of our pupils attend lessons without proper desks or chairs. Some sit on a few wooden benches, while others have no suitable place to write comfortably. Despite these challenges, they come to school every morning full of hope, eager to learn and determined to build a brighter future.

Their passion for education is inspiring—but they deserve a learning environment that supports their dreams.

Simoonga Thandizani Trust School is a registered charity school providing free education to more than 300 vulnerable children in Simoonga Village, Zambia. We do not receive government funding. Every classroom, every book, every improvement, and every opportunity we provide is made possible through the kindness and generosity of donors and well-wishers from around the world.

Today, we are humbly appealing for your support to help us purchase desks and classroom furniture so that every child has a safe, comfortable, and dignified place to learn.

Inu from China truly fell in love with the beautiful community spirit of Simoonga Thandizani Trust School in Simoonga Village, Livingstone Zambia along Nakatindi Road to Kazungula.
Simoonga Thandizani Trust School is more than just a school — it is a home of hope, culture, education, and community transformation. The school proudly provides free education to over 300 vulnerable children while also creating meaningful opportunities for international volunteers and cultural exchange.
Our Volunteers Centre offers unique village accommodation experiences for visitors who would like to volunteer, interact with local communities, and make a positive impact in the lives of children. Over the years, Simoonga Thandizani Trust School has gained valuable experience in hosting volunteers from different parts of the world, creating unforgettable memories and life-changing experiences.

💧 Water Finally at Simoonga Thandizani Trust School 💧
We are filled with joy and gratitude as we share a major milestone at Simoonga Thandizani Trust School.
After a long period of struggling without a reliable water source, we are now celebrating the successful drilling of a new borehole that is providing clean and abundant water for our school.
The first borehole unfortunately did not produce water of suitable quality, but through continued efforts and support, the drilling team returned with improved equipment and successfully drilled a new borehole. Today, we are proud to say our children now have access to safe and clean water right within the school premises.
This achievement means so much to our learners, teachers, and the entire community. The children are happy, excited, and celebrating this life-changing development.
We extend our deepest appreciation to all our donors and partners who made the Water School Project possible at Simoonga Thandizani Trust School. Your generosity has brought dignity, health, and hope to our school community.
We are now looking ahead to the next step—installing proper water distribution systems, storage tanks, and expanding access to surrounding community members.
