Managing income when the cost of living keeps rising is an important Financial Literacy skill.
During periods of rising cost of living, prices of food, rent fuel change frequently. As a result,
 Prices rise faster than income.
 Essentials take a bigger share of one’s earnings
 Savings become harder
However, you cannot always control prices but you can control your response to them. The following practical strategies could help:
 Prioritise needs first – Focus on essentials like rent, food transport and utilities.
 Adjust your budget frequently by taking into account the price increases and plan for price increases.
 Track small daily expenses such as airtime or data that often increase without you noticing and affect your budget.
 Switch to smarter spending – buy in bulk where possible.
 Increase your income (very important!) – through side hustles or use existing skills to earn extra income.
 Protect your savings by avoiding falling back on the unnecessarily.
 Avoid debt for consumption – avoid borrowing for daily expense.

Managing rising costs demands flexibility, discipline and increasing income.

Dear Lord, empower us with wisdom and courage to wait on the fulfillment of Your promises upon our lives. Grant us the right attitude as we wait on You in Jesus Christ's Mighty name. Amen

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Dear Lord, we humbly prostrate ourselves before Your Holy throne of grace and mercy in this season of transition. Empower us with wisdom to discern the areas we must transition into. We eagerly await the new experiences You have in store for our lives, in Jesus Christ's Mighty Name, we surrender all.

(Isaiah 43:19 KJV) Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

May the Lord render possible what was previously impossible.
