A few months I was in Kitwe and checked on my primary school and the community around. One name dear to my heart is 'Luto" This is because when I reached my tenth grade we had serious transport challenges in the area. This meant that pupils in their eighth grade and above had either to walk to their respective schools everyday (about 12Km the nearest school) or shift to relatives in "town". This impacted negativity on many pupils and the majority gave up.
Giving up was not option neither was to shift in town or change school. I decided not to miss classes or any lesson but walk everyday to my school secondary school - Chamboli school till I finished in 1997. I was the famous " " because when luck is my side I will pack my bicycle right in class. Thanks to my class teacher - he understood my situation. I learnt many valuable lessons in the three of my senior secondary school.
I wanted to finish my secondary education and that was my focus. Whatever came way didn't distract me - if it meant walking to school alone even braving the ruins, I did and will either reach school or home socked. It didn't matter to me. My dream was to be at University, either CBU or UNZA.
To you pupils at Lima Primary School, that is history and now you have Lima Secondary school within reach. What should stop you from getting your secondary school education?? Your dreams are achievable believe me, what you need is determination, perseverance and always remain focused. In life you need to be resilient. I challenge you my friends.

Just to inspire the current pupils, we passed through Lima and we learnt valuable life lessons not only in academics but general life lessons. You too can do it!!! It was at Lima where my hidden academic potential was discovered. Thanks to all the teachers for putting a spirit of hard work in me. Ever grateful 🙏
