Be Humble in life and God shall lift you. What is humbleness? It is the opposite of pride and pride is ;
~seeing yourself more highly than Others.
~ thinking that you know everything so no one can correct you.
~Thinking that you have reached the level of those who are above you in Authority.
No matter the heights you reach you will be brought to Zero if you don't do away with pride. The bible says that resist the devil and he will flee from you, the devil can be many things one those things is (pride).
Remember Satan was once a Cherub but because of pride he was cast down to zero.
