Subject: THE FIRST GRC MEETING

As announced by the ECM, the first GRC meeting will be on Monday 22nd November, 2021. Time and Venue will be Communicated by the Electoral Commission.

The following should be in attendance;

1. Incoming Guild executive (MUKUSU).
2. Chairpersons of Halls (mayor's)
3. Representatives of institutes and religious organisation.
5. Representative of persons with disabilities
6. Representatives from ODL students
7. Representative from intakes

NB: Only Representatives from various student organisations and invited applicants as approved by the ECM to positions in the GRC are allowed to attend the first GRC meetings.

According to Article 9 Section (b) All GRC's will be elected within 5 days of the elections of the Guild Executive and under the supervision of Electoral Commission.

According to Article 8: Section 2(e)- The speaker holds office until the end of the first GRC meeting after elections.

According to Article 9: Section 6(a)(b) The speaker and the deputy Speaker shall be elected in the first GRC meeting from amongst the members of the Guild and shall assumes His/Her duties immediately after the the first GRC meeting.

Note that: Article 8 Section 2(h)- The Speaker shall be responsible for proposing names from the clerk and Deputy Clerk to the Speaker will be appointed by the GRC.

The Speaker will further provide guidance on article 8 Section 2(h) after Consultation through the DOSA's office.
