Winnie Madikizela-Mandela

Winnie Madikizela-Mandela OLS MP(born Nomzamo Winifred Zanyiwe Madikizela; 26 September 1936[1] – 2 April 2018),[2] also known as Winnie Mandela, was a South African anti-apartheid activist and politician, and the second wife of Nelson Mandela. She served as a Member of Parliament from 1994 to 2003,[3] and from 2009 until her death,[4] and was a deputy minister of arts and culture from 1994 to 1996. A member of the African National Congress (ANC) political party, she served on the ANC's National Executive Committee and headed its Women's League. Madikizela-Mandela was known to her supporters as the "Mother of the Nation".[5]

Born to a Mpondo[6] family in Bizana, and a qualified social worker, she married anti-apartheid activist Nelson Mandela in Johannesburg in 1958; they remained married for 38 years and had two children together. In 1963, after Mandela was imprisoned following theRivonia Trial; she became his public face during the 27 years he spent in jail. During that period, she rose to prominence within the domestic anti-apartheid movement. She was detained by apartheid state security services on various occasions, tortured,[7] subjected to banning orders, banished to a rural town, and spent several months in solitary confinement.[8]

In the mid-1980s Madikizela-Mandela exerted a "reign of terror", and was "at the centre of an o**y of violence"[9][10] inSoweto, which led to condemnation by the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa,[11][12][13][9] and a rebuke by the ANC in exile.[14][15] During this period, her home was burned down by residents of Soweto.[16] The Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) established by Nelson Mandela's government to investigate human rights abuses found Madikizela-Mandela to have been "politically and morally accountable for the gross violations of human rights committed by the Mandela United Football Club", her security detail.[5][17] Madikizela-Mandela endorsed the necklacing of alleged police.

JOYCE MEYER

Joyce Pauline Meyer was born in Hutchison in South St. Louis in 1943. Her father went into the army to fight in World War II soon after she was born. She has said in interviews that he began sexually abusing her upon his return, and discusses this experience in her meetings. To this day, she speaks with a working-class St. Louis accent.
A graduate of O'Fallon Technical High School in St. Louis, she married a part-time car salesman shortly after her senior year of high school. The marriage lasted five years. She maintains that her husband frequently cheated on her and persuaded her to steal payroll checks from her employer. They used the money to go on a vacation to California. She states that she returned the money years later. After her divorce, Meyer frequented local bars before meeting Save Meyer, an engineering draftsman. They were married on January 7, 1967.

Joyce was sexually, mentally, emotionally and verbally abused by her father as far back as she could remember until she left home at the age of eighteen. Her father did many terrible things, some which are too distasteful for her to talk about publicly. But she share her testimony because so many people have been hurt, and they need to realize that someone has made it through their struggles so they can have hope. More than anything, she want everyone to know and really understand that anyone who has been abused can fully recover if they will give their life completely to Jesus.

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has extended the physical inspection of the Provisional Register of Voters by five days.

ECZ Chief Executive Officer Kryticious Nshindano says the Commission has considered feedback from various stakeholders and has extended the inspection period for another five days beginning tomorrow April 3rd 2021 to Wednesday April 7th, 2021.

Mr Nshindano said this during a press briefing this morning.

He has since encouraged registered voters to take advantage of the extension, to verify their details using the USSD Code and Web-based platform.

Mr Nshindano stated that there is no need to physically go to the centre once one is sure that the details presented are correct.

He explained that physical inspection centres are designated for services such as correction of wrongly captured details, replacement of lost or damaged voters’ cards, transfers for those who would like to change their polling stations and removal of the deceased voters from the register.

Mr Nshindano noted that during this period, the Commission is also receiving objections and appeals.

He further said the Commission has taken note of the concerns raised by some political parties, as well as independent candidates, with regards to the period allocated for payment of nomination fees.

Mr Nshindano stated that Presidential Candidates should pay their nomination fees between the 1st and 9th of May 2021, in order to allow for pre-processing of supporters scheduled for 10th May 2021.

He added that candidates for the National Assembly and councils should pay between 1st and 16th May 2021, to accommodate the provisions of the dissolution of Parliament and Councils which has been set for 14th May 2021.

He said this will allow sitting Members of Parliament and Councilors wishing to recontest to pay nomination fees after the dissolution of parliament and the councils.

“All aspiring candidates will be required to make deposits
