ZEHEST URGES SKILLS-BASED ECONOMIC GROWTH TO ACCELERATE THE GROW ZAMBIA AGENDA
ZEHEST Entreprenurship, Economic Governance, Empowerment and Skills Training Hub Limited welcomes the Government of the Republic of Zambia’s commitment under the Grow Zambia Agenda to prioritize domestic production, value addition, and sustainable job creation.
As a youth-centered organization, ZEHEST believes that *Skills, Information, and Knowledge* are the non-negotiable foundation for inclusive economic transformation.
KEY RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Prioritize Practical Skills Investment
Government and the Private Sector must scale funding for technical and vocational training in agriculture, manufacturing, ICT, construction, and other key trades. A skilled workforce is essential to ensure that Zambians are not just spectators, but drivers of the opportunities created by Grow Zambia.
2. Enable Youth-Led Enterprises
We call for the establishment of accessible financing, mentorship, and market linkages for youth-owned SMEs. This is central to our “From Street to My Own Boss” initiative, which seeks to convert unemployment into entrepreneursStrengthen Multi-Sector Partnerships*
ZEHEST reaffirms its readiness to partner with Government, Members of Parliament, and the Private Sector to roll out demand-driven skills training programs in every constituency across Zambia.
STATEMENT BY THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
_"The Grow Zambia Agenda will only realize its full potential if we grow our people first. A young person equipped with a skill and access to capital does not seek employment — they create employment. That is the future ZEHEST is working to build."_
