Lumezi St Joseph College of Nursing & Midwifery

Lumezi St Joseph College of Nursing & Midwifery will strive within its own means to mobilize key equipment or machinery that will enhance holistic training of its student nurses. After a length serving of the IGA resources the college managed to procure a 15tonnes double diff Volvo FM tipping truck for the college in a bid to address transport problems in loads exceeding the current fleet. The truck will equally contribute to enhancing the IGA in its sphere of operations.

Lumezi St joseph College of Nursing & Midwifery is one of the Seven Catholic Nursing Colleges in Zambia and is sixth in the rank of establishment followed by Sancta Maria College of Nursing & Midwifery as the Seventh in establishment. The college is located in Lukulu District of Western Province. As sister colleges it is worth conducting exchange educational visits with a view of strengthening our holistic approach in training of our student nurses who will go out there to serve humanity with the compassion & love of Christ. From the 24th to 27th February 2026 I had an opportunity to work with my colleague the team leader for Sancta Maria Nursing College. We had a conducted a tour of the college, meetings with faculty members and student nurses inclusive of lecture sessions.
Our interaction has yielded several gains for our two institutions which will go a long way in strengthening our quality holistic training for our student nurses. Nitumezi ahulu

Lumezi St Joseph College of Nursing & Midwifery would like to congratulate and welcome Set 7 to the college (January 2026 intake). The college reiterates its commitment to upholding its motto of ora et labora (pray and work) which is a gateway to producing a competent & holistic Registered Nurse. The college opens on 12th January 2026. Acceptance letters can be collected from the college upon production of your NRC commencing Thursday 20th November 2025 going through to 30th November 2025. The Nurses Educator Strategic Meeting is an annual platform that brings together Ministry of Health, Nursing & Midwifery Council of Zambia, Deans, Heads, Principals of Nurse Training institutions from both private and public with a view of ensuring quality nurse training is maintained to meet the required standards of producing a nurse that will able to uphold professional excellence as they deliver services to the public.
