MARK’S PERSONAL ACCOUNTS:

Note:
-Does not include home bills (rent, food, utilities…). I share home bills with a friend. We have a different account for those.

-Does not include Zakati (Zakati is tithe but for Muslims) and money I send to charity organizations. I do not think that tithe and money sent to charity is my money in the first place, so I try my best not to record it. I pretend I didn’t have it.

- Does not include business expenses.

LET’S GET IT!

22/02/2023 will be exactly 1 year since I became financially stable (after the terrible incidence in 2021) and decided to use my success to help as many people as I could.

From my first income I bought a MacBook Air 2013 and an iPhone 7 Plus.

I opened a personal account on google sheets (you can use excel) and made a deliberate decision to record every transaction I make. And I mean every transaction. I record K1 when I buy ka bubble gum roll.

I made 9 categories;

1- Talk Time- This would help me know how much I spend on social media. If my screen time says I spent a lot of time on n social apps that week and my accounts say I bought a lot of bundles, then I know I wasn’t very productive.

2&3- Hungry Lion & SNACKS- This would help me track my eating habits. Spending a lot of junk foods only meant that my efforts to be in shape were useless. My health is at risk.

4- Restaurants- Dates with my girlfriend. This would help me know how much I am investing in my relationship. I must tell you I need to work on this😭

5- Helping as per Allah’s Command- This would help me know how much I am helping, especially those close to me. How much of my income am I using to help easy financial burdens of others. This for me easily translates to how much success is coming my way- the more you give the more you receive. I am proud of myself here.

6- GG- I won’t tell you this one😃.

7- Health- The obvious. Gym, hospital checkups, natural foods…blah blah blah. I need to do better this year.

8- Transport- All the movements that I make. Ideally I needed to know if getting a personal car would be cheaper than public transport considering that I move around a lot. Bro, I have spend less than K10,000 in 11 months. And I use Yango a lot when I am in Lusaka.

9- Miscellaneous- Like when we out with the boys, or ba guy guy bafunako chi K50, or I buy a useless gadget like AirPods, which I end up losing in a week, or clothes, shoes, blah blah. Everything that I don’t really need to spend money on. You know.

My focus was always Zakati, Charity and helping. My reason is simple; every time I pray I ask Allah to bless me so that I can use my blessings to help others. I’d be a liar in his eyes, if I didn’t do what I promised I’d do with the blessing he gives me. Sometimes I helped with a K50 and sometimes with a K4000. It didn’t matter, as long as I helped and it showed. Today I decided to total every category. When I was summing up ‘Helping as per Allah’s…’ I was nervous. “What if I didn’t give enough in comparison to how much I made…?” Well, I was happy after finding out that I gave an average of K2,755/month. I contributed K30,300 towards Allah’s command. I am stilly happy. Namvela mushe, guys.

I’d love to upgrade my phone, I still have an iPhone 7plus by the way. 😃
I’d love to buy some cool clothes.
I’d love to go out to cool places.

All these make me happy. Very happy. But they are nothing compared to the joy I get from helping others. And I mean it. It’s the same joy I get when I spend the whole day ku mosque. I feel closer to God, you know😅. I feel like nili ku heaven ku right hand ya ambuye. Haha!

This year I hope to make enough to help others more, give charity more and upgrade my phone and laptop. How much is an iPhone X aii🤔😁

Na mu relationship first tingenesemo. Apa when you look at her you’ll know ati she’s dating The corporate farmer without even asking. 😃

Remember our V-chicken experiment?

We started with 200+. Lost a few to fowlpox. I was in Lusaka both times the vaccine was supposed to be administered. So, I’d sent money and gave instructions on the phone. A month or so later I receive a call, “inkoko shilefwa.” I asked how many we lost and was told about 30 the last 4 days.

Me: “Has any died today?”

Them: “Yes, 3.”

Me: “Okay. Go pa vet and find out what the problem is.”

Them: “Ah, we can’t. Natulya shonse.”

Anyway, we managed to take some that died later that day and found that they had fowlpox. Upto today the guys still argue that they administered the vaccine.

I wasn’t going to go back and forth with them. I had their salaries, didn’t I? So, problem solved.

Anyway, the purpose of this experience was to lower our costs as much as we could yet get maximum results.

But for the mortalities, we did a good job. Now what to do with the chickens. So yesterday tina panga ka braii naba fana😅.

We hope to do better in all angles next time. Otherwise, we’d have been in good money. 😭

Meanwhile ba Chingola, Musenga area: Village chickens for sale K60/ bird. If you talk to me properly I can even give you at K55.😁

If you make K2,500- K3000 per month, use it to pay rentals, buy food and cover utilities. If there is any change left, subscribe ku gym.
Ikasalako futi change go ku networking event.
Ikasalako futi change go and buy big bite two. Don’t stress yourself.

Don’t listen to motivational speakers telling you to live below your means elo ninshi ufola K1,500/ month. That’s not ‘below your means,’ that’s poverty. That’s asking you to live in poverty if you want to invest. You can’t think straight on an empty stomach.

However, if you’re really serious about investing, save something pa month end; K200, K300, K500, and when it’s something invest.

When your K500/ month amounts to K3000 after 6 months, talk to your friends and invest in something. Could be a shawarma machine or pop corn machines or phone covers.

Ex: Me and two other friends invested about K7,500 muma mobile money back in 2018/2019.

This year we plan to invest in… (problem ine nilibe secret😭).

We are relocating.

Dear Corporate Farmers,

This serves to inform you that we are relocating to “preferably Kitwe” soon due to area/location challenges (at our current location). We are not and might not be producing anything at the moment and for the next many months to come. We will use this year (and maybe next year too) to set up our new farm. Thus, most of the content you’ll be seeing for the next many months will not be farm produce but… well, just us setting up a base at the new farm.

Guys, ichisungu chashupa. My point is that tulekuka😂. So apa tukala posta ama foundation nama wire fence nama bloko. 😂. You get it kah?

However, our partnerships with other farmers carry on. We will continue to sell some produce on their behalf. You can also reach out if you have any farm produce you’d like to sell.

Anyway, because we will not have much to post, I am tempted to share with you step by step how we plan to finance the new farm. How we plan to grow our side bine(s) and use proceeds to set up our new farm.

Are you guys interested? 🤔
