It has been 2 decades and the quality of many schools in South Africa, especially the rural areas, has not been improved. When will the government realise that the future of our country is on the hands of the young people who are currently in schools?

We are being given science projects and assignments which require expiriments in the science labs but they are not available. Some schools are even short of textbooks. In many schools the lower secondary grades are overloaded with 80+ learners in the same class, how are they supposed to concentrate in class? Education has to be considered the way to a better South Africa. Better education means more entrepreneurs, more entrepreneurs means more jobs, more jobs means less poverty and that means a better South Africa.

A teacher from around Polokwane came to our school to teach us mathametics on a certain Saturday. He came with different kind of teaching equipments but unfortunately he was disappointed to find that they were useless since we were still using chalkboards.

Schools out there have good quality but other schools are poor. Quality education is our human right. We demand for our schools to be made better, not for us but for the next generation. That's how we move South Africa forward.

We as the DEA are committed to striving for better quality education and better education system in our country by creating collaboration between the government and the private sector.
