🎓🇰🇷 A New Journey Begins — Shawn is Going to Study in Korea!

We are so happy and grateful to share some very special news with our LCA community.

Shawn’s visa to study in Korea has officially been approved, and he will leave for Korea next Saturday! 🇿🇦✈️🇰🇷

Eight years ago, Shawn came to our school as a little boy who could hardly speak any English. Over the years, we have watched him grow, learn, persevere, and mature. Today, he speaks English confidently, has learned Korean, and is now taking his first step toward studying at a university in Korea.

He will begin with a Korean language programme at the university, preparing himself to study his future degree in Korean. We are also deeply thankful that he has received a scholarship toward his university tuition.

This moment is especially meaningful for our school.

Last year, 17 of our students had the opportunity to visit Korea for three weeks. They experienced Korean culture, met many wonderful people, and visited universities. That journey planted many new dreams in the hearts of our students.

And now, one of our first graduates is actually taking the next step to study at a university in Korea. 🌱🎓

For us, this is more than one student going overseas. It is a beautiful reminder that the small seeds planted through education, relationships, opportunities, and faith can grow into something far beyond what we could see at the beginning.

As Shawn begins this completely new chapter of his life, we ask our whole LCA community to please pray for him:

🙏 That he will adjust well to life in Korea
🙏 That God will give him wisdom and grace as he learns the Korean language
🙏 That he will meet good friends and find a good church community
🙏 That he will grow not only academically, but also in character and faith
🙏 That God will guide every step of this new journey

Shawn, we are so proud to see how far you have come.

Go bravely, keep learning, keep growing, and remember that your LCA family in South Africa is praying for you.

Friday Cupcake Sale - The whole family joined in to bake and decorate the cupcakes and our precious Playschooler was very excited to sell it to his customers🧁😊

The students of the Discovery Club assisted Worcester Plantjies with their rose garden project opposite the Community Swimming Pool on Wednesday, the 19th of August.

Worcester Plantjies is a group of senior citizens who go around voluntarily giving of their time to beautify
Worcester.

The students packed many bags of compost which was donated by a company and they then wheeled it across the road to the rose garden.

They were rewarded with bottles of coke kindly given to them by project co-ordinator, Angeluque Morkel.

Our precious Playschoolers are learning to show compassion (being concerned for others when they have a need) as Jesus did.🙌🙌
Matthew 4:23 - Jesus went...teaching...and preaching the good news of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.🙌🙌

Today at Assembly, Rebekka and her team from Germany visited our school. They taught the children three new dances and reminded them that each one is special, that God needs them, and that He has a special plan for their lives. We thank them for reminding us that God is working in each of us at our own pace. May God continue to use them to bless children all over the world.
