What a wonderful day filled with great hockey, big smiles and loads of fun! 🌟 Our young players gave it their all on the field and showed fantastic enthusiasm, teamwork and sportsmanship.

A huge well done to all our players, coaches and supporters for making the day so special! 🏑

Wat ’n heerlike dag vol goeie hokkie, groot glimlagte en hope pret! 🌟 Ons jong spelers het alles op die veld gegee en ongelooflike entoesiasme, spanwerk en goeie sportmangees getoon.

Baie geluk aan al ons spelers, afrigters en ondersteuners wat die dag so spesiaal gemaak het! 🏑

Oppie Tong Af

Ons sprekers het van 11–13 Augustus aan die Oppie Tong Af-redenaarskompetisie deelgeneem. Dit is ’n aanlyn redenaarskompetisie. Almal het uitstekend gepraat en ons is baie trots op elkeen van hulle!

Baie geluk aan Vhené Oelofse en Ja-né Louw wat deurgedring het na die volgende rondte.

Our speakers participated in the Oppie Tong Af Speech Competition from 11–13 August. This is an online speech competition. Everyone spoke exceptionally well, and we are very proud of each one of them!

Congratulations to Vhené Oelofse and Ja-né Louw on advancing to the next round.

Mpumalanga Landloop Kampioenskappe - 15 Augustus in Emalahleni

Ons landloopatlete het die koue trotseer. Hulle was dapper en hulle harde werk het vrugte afgewerp.

Ons is ongelooflik trots om aan te kondig dat die volgende 8 atlete gekies is vir die Mpumalanga landloopspan. Hulle sal Mpumalanga verteenwoordig by die SA Kampioenskappe in Pretoria op 5 September 2026 by Curro Hazeldean, Pretoria.

Mpumalanga Cross Country Championships - 15 August in Emalahleni

Our cross country athletes braved the cold. They were brave and their hard work paid off.

We are incredibly proud to announce that the following 8 athletes have been selected for the Mpumalanga cross-country team. They will represent Mpumalanga at the SA Championships in Pretoria on 5 September 2026 at Curro Hazeldean, Pretoria.

Laerskool Witrivier se 1ste Krieketspan Toer na Johannesburg

Die seuns van Laerskool Witrivier se 1ste krieketspan het onlangs ’n opwindende toer na Johannesburg geniet, waar hulle teen sterk teenstanders van The Ridge Preparatory School en King Edward Preparatory School meegeding het. Die toer het waardevolle wedstrydervaring gebied en die seuns gehelp om hul vaardighede, selfvertroue en spanwerk verder te ontwikkel.

Op pad na Johannesburg het die span ook ’n ander formaat van krieket teen ’n akademiespan van Middelburg by Middelburg Hoërskool gespeel. Nog ’n hoogtepunt was ’n agter-die-skerms-toer van SuperSport Park, waar die seuns meer oor die stadion se geskiedenis geleer het en die kleedkamer kon besoek wat deur krieketlegendes soos AB de Villiers gebruik is.

Buiten die krieketveld het die toer vriendskappe versterk, spangees gebou en kosbare herinneringe geskep. Deur die hele toer het die seuns Laerskool Witrivier met trots, toewyding en uitstekende sportmanskap verteenwoordig.

Uitslae:

* Gelykop teen die Middelburg Akademie.
* Wen met 92 lopies teen The Ridge Preparatory School se 1ste span.
* Verloor met 10 paaltjies teen King Edward Preparatory School (KEPS) se 1ste span.

Baie geluk aan ons 1ste krieketspan met ’n suksesvolle toer. Ons is ongelooflik trots op die wyse waarop julle Laerskool Witrivier verteenwoordig het.

White River Primary School 1st Team Cricket Tour to Johannesburg

The White River Primary School 1st Team cricket boys recently enjoyed an exciting tour to Johannesburg, where they competed against strong opposition from The Ridge Preparatory School and King Edward Preparatory School. The tour provided valuable match experience and helped the boys further develop their skills, confidence and teamwork.

On their way to Johannesburg, the team also played a different format of cricket against an academy side from Middelburg at Middelburg High School. Another highlight was a behind-the-scenes tour of SuperSport Park, where the boys learned about the stadium’s rich history and visited the dressing room once used by cricket legends such as AB de Villiers.

Beyond the cricket field, the tour strengthened friendships, built team spirit and created lasting memories. Throughout the tour, the boys represented White River Primary School with pride, commitment and excellent sportsmanship.

Results:

* Drew against the Middelburg Academy.
* Won by 92 runs against The Ridge Preparatory School 1st Team.
* Lost by 10 wickets against King Edward Preparatory School (KEPS) 1st Team.
