Here are a few fun facts about letting a 4-year-old peel her own boiled sweet potato: 🥔😍

1.Develops fine motor skills – Peeling helps strengthen the small muscles in the hands and fingers.

2.Builds independence – Children feel proud when they can complete a task on their own.

3.Encourages self-help skills – It teaches children to do simple everyday tasks for themselves.

4.Improves hand-eye coordination – Children learn to use their hands carefully and purposefully.

5.Promotes healthy eating habits – Children are often more interested in eating food they helped prepare.

6.Boosts confidence – Successfully peeling a sweet potato gives a sense of achievement.

7.Supports concentration – The activity requires focus and attention to complete.

Heavenly Father,

We come before You as the ECD SA family on this first day of our new term. We thank You for the privilege of shaping the lives of the children in our community. We ask for Your divine protection over every child who will walk through our doors this year. May they feel safe, loved, and nurtured under our care.

Lord, we pray for the protection of our sponsors who have devoted their time, money, hearts and hands to this work. Bless them and keep them strong and healthy. We ask that You provide employment for the parents who are struggling so they can support their families and meet their needs. For those who are ill, we pray for Your healing touch, that they may find strength and recovery.

We lift up our ECD practitioners, asking that You fill their hearts with love and patience, because we know that teaching young children is truly a labor of love. Let them feel appreciated and supported in all they do.

And Lord, we ask for Your guidance and strength for all ECD founders. May they lead with wisdom and compassion, and may this prayer cover us all through this year. We trust in Your protection and Your unfailing love.

In Your Holy Name We Pray, Amen.
