Imagine a community that continues to bring people together, long after their school days have ended. This term, we have seen that come to life through cricket, golf, padel, shared meals and plenty of catching up. UPPA is about keeping those connections alive and celebrating the friendships, memories and sense of belonging that make the Uplands community so special. Thank you to everyone that has supported UPPA this past term. Your involvement keeps these connections strong and our community thriving.

Representing South Africa at the Adventure Racing World Championships is something I never imagined I would have the opportunity to do. It has taught me that success isn’t just about being the fastest or strongest - it’s about resilience, teamwork, problem solving and continuing to move forward when things get tough. This year the world championships take place in Corsica - the race starts in 1 October 2026.

Our team will cover 500km through mountains, rivers and the ocean navigating entirely by map and compass while trekking, mountain biking, kayaking and completing rope sections. We carry all our compulsory gear with us throughout the race and sleep very little, often racing continuously for several days.

What I love most about it is that it gives you the rare chance to completely switch off from the outside world and it has taught me that the body is often capable of far more than the mind initially believes.

Our Ladies Padel & Lunch was full of energy, laughter, a little friendly competition and plenty of bubbly personalities on and off the court.

A massive thank you to Sorbet Nelspruit for sponsoring our Ladies Padel and for the incredible prizes and bubbly refreshments that helped keep those bubbly personalities going on court.

The padel was followed by a relaxed harvest-table lunch, where every lady was treated to an incredible goodie bag, made possible by some wonderful sponsors, and a very well-deserved welcome drink on arrival — the perfect way to round off the week.

The Ladies Padel & Lunch is a relatively new addition to our UPPA Golf Day, but it seems to be growing in strength and spirit each year. We love seeing it become such a fun part of the day — and after this year, we already can't wait to see what 2027 brings.

UPPA Golf Day 2026

It was a fantastic day on the course.

What a day!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the UPPA Golf Day and Ladies Padel & Lunch on Friday 4 September 2026. It was wonderful to see so many past pupils, friends and members of our wider Uplands community coming together, enjoying some friendly competition and great company.

Events like these are about so much more than a day on the course, court or lunch around the table - they are about community, connection and keeping those Uplands relationships strong. We are so grateful for the support, enthusiasm and generosity that make days like this possible.

And, of course, a special thank you to all our sponsors and partners who helped make the day such a success. We could not have done it without you.
