HELP US TELL THE UPLANDS STORY
As we look ahead to Uplands’ Centenary in 2028, we want to hear from the people who have been part of the story.
From the earliest days of Uplands to those more recent years, every generation has left its mark - and every generation has a story to tell.
A favourite teacher. A sporting triumph. A school tradition. A friendship that lasted a lifetime. A mischievous moment that still makes you laugh. A special event, a school trip, a song, a place on campus - or simply something that, when you think of Uplands, makes you smile.
Tell us your story.
And if you have an old photograph to go with it, even better. We would love to see the people, places and moments that have helped shape the Uplands community over the past century.
Your memories will help us build a living collection of the stories that make Uplands, Uplands - and we would love to share them as we count down to our Centenary.
Past pupils, parents, staff and friends of Uplands - this is your invitation to be part of the story.
Send us your memories and photographs to [email protected] or simply comment below.
One hundred years. Thousands of stories. We would love to hear yours

On Wednesday, 22 July, we were delighted to welcome brother and sister Alasdair and Emma Gordon, who are now living in the UK and back in South Africa for their summer holiday. Even more special, they brought their children along to see the school they once attended.
Alasdair was at Uplands from 1993-1997 and was in the same class as our UPPA Chair, Malcolm Deacon. It was wonderful to have Malcolm join them for a cup of tea and some good old Uplands scones, making time for a quick catch-up and a trip down memory lane.
Their words perfectly capture what makes a return to Uplands so special:
“So nice to look around Uplands [Primary] after so many years. Great memories.” - Alasdair
And from Emma:
“Amazing to see how it’s grown. The feeling is still the same though.”
The buildings may change, the school may grow and the years may pass - but that feeling of Uplands remains.
Thank you Alasdair and Emma, for taking the time to visit, share your memories and introduce the next generation to the place that was once such a big part of your own childhood.
We hope to see you back again soon.

On Friday, 24 July 2026, we held our annual Past Pupils' Cricket Match at the Uplands College cricket oval. Once again, it was very well supported. Batting second, the chasing side successfully overhauled a formidable total of 183 in their allotted 24 overs to claim the win.
More importantly, it was a wonderful opportunity to reminisce about our school days, reconnect with old friends, meet some new faces, and enjoy a memorable afternoon together.
A sincere thank you to everyone who played, supported, organised and contributed to making the day such a success. We look forward to doing it all again next year.

There's something truly special about life at Uplands.
Our beautiful campus is more than just a place to learn; it is a place where nature is part of everyday life. From towering trees and open green spaces to the occasional sighting of our resident porcupines, every day is a reminder of the beauty that surrounds us.
At Uplands, we believe that a love for learning goes hand in hand with a love for nature, inspiring our community to appreciate, protect and enjoy the remarkable environment we are privileged to call home.

Happy Nelson Mandela Day!
Today, we honour the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela, a leader whose courage, humility and commitment to justice continue to inspire generations.
On Nelson Mandela Day, we are reminded that each of us has the power to make a positive difference in the lives of others. Whether through an act of kindness, giving our time or supporting those in need, every contribution helps build a stronger, more compassionate community.
As Madiba once said: "It is in your hands to make a better world for all who live in it." Let us celebrate his legacy by choosing kindness, serving others and inspiring hope, today and every day.
