CMDA based in White River calls for community support The Casterbridge Music Development Academy has announced a strategic shift aimed at improved sustainability and community participation; improving access to music education.

After immense financial strain and a catastrophic fire that destroyed its hub, studio, instruments, and equipment, CMDA will officially suspend operations from 31 March 2026. This is a deeply painful moment — but it is not the end. The Board is now focusing on raising funds to rebuild, replace what was lost, and work toward resuming hub operations in the future.

CMDA has poured so much into the lives of young people through free music education and creative opportunities. Now we need the community to rally behind us.
