Our 8 and 9 year old artists created the most beautiful art pieces for the Nelspruit Eisteddfod! They explored different mediums, worked with great enthusiasm and loved every moment.

The theme is "What a wonderful world". It features wonderful people and places in the world, wonders of nature or their own, imaginary wonderful worlds. What a great platform and opportunity for our budding artists!

Here are the 12 year old artists' entries!

Kara Nunes created this unique and interesting piece "A Wonderful world... Revisited" for the Nelspruit Eisteddfod. She is an 18 year old, talented artist who shows great promise.

In this piece she explored the concept of the competition of man versus nature. She says that: "It represents the strong contrast of man made things like the vision of liberty (as something being only temporary), as opposed to Nature: a concept that never dissappears. It withers and continues a new cycle just as before - but perhaps even better. Nature to me is a natural balance towards the artificial (hence seeing it destroyed and yet holds up the statue of liberty). Personally, seeing Nature take back what is rightfully theirs, his, hers, is what describes a 'wonderful world' to me, as no matter how broken something is, there is beauty in the natural Karma."
