What an AWESOME way to celebrate the first day of Spring

Our students absolutely went all out for our fully recycled Fashion Show

From creative costumes to big personalities, they proved that a little imagination can go a VERY long way

And who said homeschooling has to be lonely or boring?

At NOA, we believe learning is about so much more than textbooks and tests. It’s about making memories, building friendships, expressing creativity, and having FUN!

🌸 Happy Spring Day from NOA Institute of Education! 🌸

NOA’s First FRIDAY
Reading With Elders Initiative

Today marked the start of NOA’s First FRIDAY, our special initiative where elders from our community join us to spend time reading with our students.

Although we only had one volunteer this week, the spirit of the program was still alive and well. Our amazing prefects stepped in with enthusiasm, ready to support the younger students and make the experience meaningful.

Moments like these remind us that leadership is about service, kindness, and setting an example for others. We are incredibly proud of them.

We are confident that as the weeks go on, more volunteers will join us in sharing the joy of reading and connection with our learners.

If you would like to volunteer for an upcoming First FRIDAY, we would love to have you join our NOA family!!!!

Formal Statement

Good day all,

Please accept this as NOA’s formal statement.

Over the past two months, we have been subjected to severe harassment, intimidation, bullying, and false accusations. Until now, we have chosen to remain silent out of respect for the opposing party. However, as an institution that teaches young people to stand up against bullying and to act with integrity, we cannot continue to remain silent while being subjected to the very behavior we teach our students to stand against.
NOA has never claimed to be anything other than a tutor centre.

Parents who are familiar with the homeschooling system understand that tutor centres are not directly registered with the Department of Basic Education. If they were, they would be issued an EMIS number, which is proof of registration as an independent school. Tutor centres do not fall into this category.

Tutor centres operate as registered businesses that provide academic support to students who are registered with an accredited curriculum provider approved by SACAI and Umalusi.

Examples of accredited curriculum providers include:
• Cambrilearn
• IMPAQ
• Taneo
• Think Digital

It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure that their child is registered with the relevant curriculum provider. NOA, as a tutor centre, provides academic support, guidance, and additional educational resources to assist students with their studies.

Official report cards and academic records are issued through the curriculum provider, which is something that all of our current parents are fully aware of.

Unfortunately, during this period of ongoing harassment and intimidation, several damaging and false allegations have been made against our institution. These allegations have the potential to harm our reputation, and we will not tolerate this any further.

We have sought legal guidance and attempted to address the matter through the appropriate channels in order to stop these disruptions. Unfortunately, the individual responsible has become careful about where and how information is posted, making further legal action difficult at this stage.

For clarity:

All of our students are registered with accredited curriculum providers, which link them to the relevant educational authorities.

Once students enter the secondary phase (Grade 10), they are registered with SACAI and Umalusi directly .In their matric year, students are registered to write their final examinations through the Independent Examination Board (IEB) at a SACAI-accredited examination centre.

This statement will be our first and only public response. We will not participate in gossip or allow this matter to become a topic of public speculation.

As parents and guardians, we encourage you to conduct your own research and inspections where you feel necessary. It is important that every parent feels confident in the decisions they make for their child’s education.

However, we will no longer tolerate harassment, intimidation, or bullying directed at our institution or our community.

Thank you for your continued support.
