This month, we’re shining a light on learning challenges and the different ways they can impact children in and out of the classroom and looking at how we as a school can help learners with learning challenges 💛

Grade 5 Project Evening - A Journey into the Past! 🦖🌿

The grade 5 class had a very successful Project Evening! 🌟 Our learners took us on a journey into the past as they explored the fascinating world of unique, extinct animals: Procoptodons, Moa birds, the Dodo, the Andrewsarchus and even a woolly Rhinoceros to name a few.

From researching where their animals lived and what they ate, to discovering their behaviour and uncovering the reasons behind their extinction, our learners put so much thought and effort into their projects. They then compiled their research into flip files and prepared presentations to share with their parents, proudly showcasing their knowledge through their oral presentations. 📚🎤

This project was about so much more than learning about extinct animals! It gave our learners the opportunity to develop and practise valuable life and learning skills from researching and working independently, to organisation, time management, information gathering and technology skills. They learned how to manage a project from start to finish, take responsibility for their own work and confidently share what they had discovered. 💻📝⏰

It was wonderful to see their curiosity, confidence and hard work come to life! We are incredibly proud of each and every learner, and a special congratulations to their teacher, Miss Marques for guiding and encouraging them throughout this exciting project 👏

Well done, Grade 5! You certainly brought these incredible creatures back to life for an evening! 🦤🐘🦖✨
