🎶 A Celebration of Music, Culture and Community! 🎶

On Saturday, 29 August 2026, the Inkamana High School Choir, conducted by Mr Thulasizwe Guqu Ndlovu, had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Choir Festival hosted by Vryheid High School.

We are incredibly proud of our choir. Our learners had a great time and performed extremely well, representing Inkamana with passion, confidence and pride. 👏🏽🎶💚

We would also like to congratulate all the choirs that participated. The performances were outstanding, and it was inspiring to witness so much talent, dedication and love for music gathered under one roof. 🎵✨

A heartfelt thank you to our parents and the wider Inkamana and Vryheid communities for the incredible support shown to our learners. Your presence, encouragement and applause mean so much to them.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Vryheid High School for having us and for creating such a wonderful platform for our young singers. A special thank you to Miss Caluza and her organising team for their hard work and for making the festival a memorable occasion.

At Inkamana, singing is part of our culture. 🎶 It is one of the ways we express ourselves, celebrate together and give voice to our hopes, emotions and identity. When our children sing, they carry the spirit of Inkamana with them.

🎓🌟 An Educational Visit at Inkamana High School

Inkamana High School was delighted to welcome representatives from the South African Responsible Gambling Foundation, Miss Gadini and Miss Khwela, for an important and engaging awareness session on responsible gambling and the dangers of gambling among minors.

Our learners were reminded that gambling is addictive and that underage gambling is strictly forbidden. The session also highlighted the difference between legal and illegal gambling, with the four legal forms being sports betting, horse betting, bingo and casino gambling. Any other forms of gambling are illegal.

It was a fruitful, informative and enjoyable experience for both our learners and staff. The learners participated enthusiastically, had fun, and even received some goodies for their participation! 🎁😊

Yesterday we were privileged to receive a visit from the University of the Witwatersrand and we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the University of the Witwatersrand for taking the time to visit our Grade 12 learners at Inkamana and deliver such an insightful and inspiring session.

A special thank you to the university ambassador, Miss Z Ndebele, whose presentation was truly outstanding. She spoke meaningfully about career choices, what learners can expect at university, and how to conduct themselves in a university environment. Her ability to keep our learners engaged, entertained, and actively involved throughout the session was remarkable.

She motivated and encouraged our learners to believe in themselves, to embrace who they are, and to work hard while maintaining high standards in everything they do. Her words of encouragement left a lasting impact and inspired our learners to dream bigger and strive for excellence.

We sincerely appreciate this valuable engagement and the guidance shared with our learners as they prepare for their future journeys. Thank you for investing in the dreams and success of our young people.

Warm congratulations to the Inkamana Athletics Club for successfully hosting yet another outstanding at Modderfontein. This achievement reflects the Club’s dedication, unity, discipline, and passion for developing athletics and bringing the community together through sport.

The Alumni of Inkamana proudly celebrate this milestone and commend the incredible work done by the Chairman, Thami KaQoma, together with the entire Club leadership, athletes, organisers, volunteers, and supporters who continue to make this event a success year after year.

Inkamana High School takes immense pride in the Athletics Club and its Alumni at all times. Your commitment continues to inspire the youth and uplift the name of the school and the community alike. A small stretch of tar road may seem simple to some, but for us, it is a symbol of growth, dignity, and hope for the future. From years of gravel roads to seeing real change take shape, this is a proud moment for the entire Inkamana community.

Bullying and sexual harassment awareness programme.

Today, we had the privilege of hosting representatives from Child Welfare Society Vryheid, Zululand, the South African Police Service Vryheid and the Vryheid Magistrate's Court, where they addressed our learners about the serious issue of bullying in schools.

The session focused on the different types of bullying, the impact it has on both the victim and the perpetrator(s), and the serious consequences that can arise from such behaviour. Learners were also educated about sexual harassment and sexual misconduct amongst learners, what these actions mean, and how they affect everyone involved.

The awareness programme was informative, engaging, and eye-opening. Our learners were excited and learned a great deal — and so did the teachers.

Programmes like these are extremely important for our children, teachers, and parents, as they help create safer, more respectful, and supportive school environments. We sincerely appreciate all the stakeholders who took the time to invest in the wellbeing and education of our learners.
