Shanghai Bound! Three College Students Fly the SA Flag at WorldSkills 2026 🇿🇦

The world stage has called and Sedibeng TVET College is proudly answering!

Three of our talented students are in Shanghai, China, representing South Africa at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, taking place from 22–27 September 2026.

✂️ Matumelo Mofokeng will compete in Hairdressing, while ⚙️ Lwazi Mlambo and Sicelo Bholo will take on the challenge in Mechatronics.

And this is no ordinary competition.

More than 1,400 competitors from more than 70 countries and regions are coming together to compete across a record 64 skills. Among them are three young people proudly carrying the name of Sedibeng TVET College onto the international stage.
For Matumelo, Lwazi and Sicelo, this is an opportunity to put their talent, dedication and practical skills to the test against some of the finest young skilled competitors from around the world.

For the College, it is a moment of pride — seeing our students take what they have learned in the classroom, workshops and training environments and showcase it on a global platform.

Three students. Two skills. One global stage. 🇿🇦

Go Matumelo! Go Lwazi! Go Sicelo!
The College is behind you!
