Sibling rivalry ❤️
Less comparison. More connection.
Sibling disagreements are a normal part of growing up. With caring guidance, these moments can help children practise negotiation, emotional regulation, problem-solving and repairing relationships.
Our job isn’t to prevent every disagreement—it’s to keep children safe and guide them through conflict without adding comparison or competition.
🌱 Avoid comparisons.
❤️ Make space for individual connection.
🗣️ Name feelings while holding clear boundaries.
💛 Address the behaviour without labelling the child.
⚖️ Remember: fair doesn’t always mean identical.
🤝 Help them repair and find solutions together.
😇Protect their self-worth
🫢Never blame and shame
Instead of “You’re naughty,” try:
“I won’t let you hit. Hitting hurts. Let’s find the words you need.”
Most importantly, let each child know:
“You don’t have to compete to have a place in this family.”
They don’t need to be the same to know they are equally loved. 🌈
Save this post for those tricky sibling moments. 💝
