*Considering Engineering for 2027?*
If you have completed, or are currently busy with, Mathematics at Pre-Calculus level or higher, Chemistry and Physics, and English 12, this is definitely an opportunity worth exploring.
The Faculty of Engineering on the Potchefstroom campus at North-West University, are still welcoming student applications for the 2027 intake. We encourage all eligible students to apply, as there are still openings and it is not too late yet.
Applications only close end August 2026. While final admission always remains subject to NWU’s official selection process and minimum requirements, this is encouraging news for students who are still considering to apply.
NWU’s Engineering Faculty offer a personal learning environment, with the possibility of greater individual attention as students progress through the programme.
We are also planning a webinar with the NWU Engineering Department soon, where families will be able to learn more about the faculty, programmes, admission process and student experience.
Students who meet the academic requirements are warmly encouraged to apply as soon as possible rather than assuming it is too late. NWU’s official Engineering requirements and application guidance are available here.

Being in a competitive corporate and similtaneous sporting environment myself for more than 20 years, I can echo this:
Dr. James Dobson would regularly share the story of an executive who dutifully took his daughter to work on "Take Your Daughter to Work Day." He said that people told him it would raise her self-esteem to think that she could be a part of such a high-stakes world. He agreed, but he said that his daughter's self esteem was REALLY boosted when he told her:
"Look at how high-powered, intense, and demanding this environment is. Your mother used to be a part of it, and she chose to leave all of this behind because raising you was far more important to us than any of this."
