Support Saturday. 💜

Five days of structure, then two days without it. For a lot of our families the weekend is the hardest part of the week.

A few things that tend to help. Keep wake up times and meals close to weekday times. Write the day up somewhere everyone can see it, even if it is only three items on the fridge. Plan one outing a day instead of three. Decide where the quiet spot is before anybody needs it.

Feel Good Friday. 🩺

The doctor will see you now.

Coats on, stethoscopes around necks, charts filled in. Our Vaalpark learners spent the day running a hospital, and the teddy bears came through it beautifully. One patient was tucked in with a blanket. Another had notes taken before treatment. Everybody was discharged in good health.

Pretend play is real work. It is how children practise being brave, taking turns and looking after someone else.

Mats down in the motor room before seven. Tables carried out and covered for Entrepreneurs Day. Doctor coats found, stethoscopes untangled, teddy bears lined up for their check ups. Then a full day of teaching on top of it.

Wins Wednesday. ⭐

Celebrate every success, big or small. This week it was Entrepreneurs Day at Piece of Mind Academy Vaalpark.

Our learners picked a product, baked and mixed it, priced it, designed the poster and then stood behind the table and sold it. Sweet treats at R10. A mocktail menu called Weather in a Glass, with a free cookie thrown in to close the deal.

Standing behind your own stall and talking to a stranger takes courage. Working out change takes maths. Getting stock ready before the doors open takes planning. All of it counts.
