Seed secrets.
There is so much more to seed than meets the eye. Every seed is a biological bank. Bacteria that are specific to your area are captured in the seed of your plants, and they make that seed more suited to your habitat.
You can get selective about which seed you save, but at the end of the day, seed is future food.
And buying seed is extremely expensive.
Seed and seedlings are a major cost item on the operational budget of any Agricultural enterprise.
Saving seed saves you money.
And then there is the issue of open pollinated heirloom varieties which are viable and self replicating. Your seed will be valuable in that regard.
Much of the seed that you buy is designed to NEVER reproduce! So you are forced to keep buying.
Now, there is an important procedure in the saving of seed that involves bio-security and keeping it dry and cool etc, and you will need to do your homework on that.
But you can't go wrong saving your seed for your own business.
