LOCAL MATHS EXCELLENCE BOOSTED BY KWATHEMA ACADEMY

Mathematics is a key skill that opens doors to many career opportunities. To help students excel, KwaThema – Mathematics Excel Academy is offering extra maths and science lessons for learners in need.

Founder Collen Wiseman Msibi says the programme, running since 2011, aims to give learners the experience of mastering mathematics and science. “We would like to extend an invitation to parents to register their children for extra classes in maths and science,” Msibi says.

The academy provides free Saturday lessons from 8 am to 1 pm at 20101 Mbele Street Kwa-Thema Ext 7. Registration for the Easter holidays classes as well term 2 will take place on 14 March from 9 am to 1 pm. For those who cannot attend in person, online tutoring is available.

MATHS TIPS FOR SUCCESS
1. Practice regularly – solve problems daily to build confidence.
2. Understand the basics – master formulas before moving to complex questions.
3. Seek help early – don’t hesitate to ask teachers or tutors for clarification.

STUDENT SUCCESS STORY
A local student, Hlengiwe, improved her maths grade from 50% to 90% after joining the Excelling Academy’s extra lessons. “The personal attention and fun teaching methods made maths enjoyable and easier,” she says.
