It is with deep sadness that Holy Cross High School mourns the passing of our former learner, Nikhanye Cewu.

Nikhanye will be remembered as a valued member of the Holy Cross family. Although his journey with us had ended, the memories created and the impact made will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Cewu family, relatives, friends, and all who were close to Nikhanye during this difficult time.

Ngqondiyemveli "Ngqondi" Zuba a 14 year old boy who hails from the dusty streets of Zimbane (Mthatha) represented our school at the Winter National Sport championships in kuGompo.

He faced the best athletes from every province, and he did so wearing our school badge with pride. Coming back from kuGompo with a gold medal is a true testimony that discipline, teamwork and determination are key to success.

During Preseason games that were organised by Mcoyile FC and Milford FC from NFD, Zuba represented Mercy Academy U21 boys in a full packed Mtata stadium and he did not disappoint.A left footed winger ,he is a fan favourite, fans were chanting his name from the stands. Chippa United FC from PSL witnessed this young talent .

We are proud of you and once again congratulations Ngqondi and team Eastern Cape Boys Under 17 for becoming champions 🙌🏿 run to win🐴
