On the 10th of August 2026, our learner leaders united to mark Women’s Month.
We used the day to raise our voices against gender-based violence and femicide, and to call for safer schools and safer communities for all.
This was youth leading with purpose - showing that change starts with us.
A heartfelt thank you to our guests, speakers, and the organizing committee for making this event possible.

On the 7th of August 2026, our school hosted the UHS annual Arts Day. From choir harmonies to drama, dance to beautiful art - our learners gave it their all honouring the spirit of Mandela Day by showcasing the gifts that make us who we are. Their voices, their moves, their art... this is what future leaders look like!

Umtata High School will be hosting a fun day at the AO! JUBILEE!! On the 16th of May 2026.
The day itself is geared towards fun games, great moments with family, friends, and amazing food. This serves as an invitation to the community & its members to come and join us and make the most of this day by participating with the benefit of making a profit.

Yesterday, our school proudly hosted our Annual Rugby Day 🏉
We welcomed teams from St John’s College , Umtata International, Nozuko, Khanyisa, Mida and Ngangelizwe bringing together sportsmanship and school spirit.
Thank you to all the players, coaches and supporters who made the day a success as it was such an honour to welcome all the schools.

Our INTERACT CLUB supports a charity organisation called Dreamers, for children suffering from life-threatening illnesses.

Today learners were allowed to come to school wearing their slippers with school uniform.

The official date for this fundraiser is the 29th of May, but we like to get a head start😉

On the 23rd to the 26th of April our grade 11s attended a leadership and team building camp at Forest way Stutterheim.
This camp was a lot of fun, our learners acquired skills and had development activities that aim to equip our learners with the necessary skills to inspire trust and growth in them.🖤💛💚
