The Department of Accounting and Law at Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) is part of the Faculty of Management Sciences.
It offers programs such as diplomas in Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting, Public Finance and Local Government.

On Day 1 of the Curriculum renewal and strategic planning, Dr Lungani Makhathini, the Acting HOD of Department of Accounting and Law, delivered the welcome address.
Dr Makhathini shared with the staff his 2025 departmental plan where he highlighted that the department should beleives more on Learning and Teaching as opposed to Teaching and Learning as our teaching will be more students centred.

Department of Accounting and Law hosted a curriculum renewal and strategic planning at Zimbali Resorts.
The purpose of the event was to check alignment of our modules to the industry expectations and from one level to the next so to avoid repetitions.
The other purpose was to review our institution strategic plan and see how we can filter it down to our department.
