Today, the Grade 12 learners of Makhumbuza High School also visited the Bat Centre to watch and study the prescribed isiZulu drama Ubhuku Lwamanqe. The live theatre performance gave learners a deeper understanding of the play by bringing the characters, themes, and storyline to life. This educational experience will greatly assist our learners as they prepare for their final Grade 12 examinations.

Ubhuku Lwamanqe ngumdlalo wesiZulu ofundisa ngezinto ezibalulekile empilweni njengobulungiswa, ubuqotho, ubuholi, inkohlakalo kanye nemiphumela yezinqumo ezingalungile. Lo mdlalo ukhuthaza abafundi ukuthi bacabange ngokujulile ngezinkinga zomphakathi, babone ukubaluleka kokwenza okulungile, futhi baqonde ukuthi izenzo zomuntu zihlale zinemiphumela. Ube yithuba elihle lokufunda nokulungiselela izivivinyo zokugcina zikaMatikuletsheni.

Today, the Grade 12 learners of Makhumbuza High School spent the day at the Bat Centre, where they attended an educational performance and study session based on the prescribed drama My Children! My Africa! by Athol Fugard. The experience gave learners a deeper understanding of the play by bringing its characters, themes, and conflicts to life through live theatre, making their learning more engaging and meaningful.

My Children! My Africa! is a powerful South African drama set during the apartheid era. It explores important themes such as education, equality, hope, youth activism, and the struggle for justice. Through the characters of Mr M, Thami, and Isabel, the play encourages learners to think critically about the value of education, the challenges faced by young people, and the importance of building a better future. We hope this experience will contribute positively to our Grade 12 learners’ preparation for their final examinations.

Good evening, Makhumbuza High School learners📮

Yesterday is gone let’s leave it there and focus on tomorrow Please iron your school uniform, polish your school shoes until they shine, and make sure you arrive at school by 06:30 sharp, looking smart, disciplined, and ready to learn. We want every learner to represent Makhumbuza with pride.

😂Today’s joke:Just like Argentina, don’t let your shoes lose 1–0 tomorrow! If your shoes arrive covered in dust, we’ll assume they also played 120 minutes plus extra time in yesterday’s FIFA World Cup Final. Spain took the trophy, but tomorrow the real champions will be the learners with the cleanest uniforms and the shiniest shoes! 😄🏆👞
